Hello all. I have a kubota kx121 with a quick attach and a hydraulic thumb. I had a quick attach plate made for my new holland mini I had that I could pin on my hydraulic hammer or my auger however it did not have a thumb. My dilemma is with the thumb on the kubota my auxiliary ports are being used. Is there a way to add another set of auxiliarys so I can leave the thumb on? I really don't want to remove the thumb just to hammer or auger.

Bobcat 331 Hydraulic Problem

Hello everyone, I recently bought a 1999 331 and have been using it a lot around the yard. I have started having problems with what might be an overload valving issue? If I put the chain on the bucket or even lift with the teeth and try to move something pretty heavy, sometimes the whole boom/stick will just drop and then functions normally once it hits the ground but will do it again and again. It usually is extended out, but doesn't have to be all the way out.. I've been running excavators and other equipment for 20 years and have never had a machine do this before. Any help is appreciated! As Donald Sutherland aka Oddball said in the movie "Kellys Heros": I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work :D

How do I remove this hose????

Hey guys Today I blew one of my hydraulic hoses on my KX91-3, one that goes to the arm piston. I'm at a loss as to how you loosen off the nut at the control stack?? It looks like it is a 22mm nut but theres no way to get a spanner in there. I tried cutting a 7/8 box wrench to be like a brake line fitting wrench but its a bit sloppy and wont work. What tool do I need to get that loose? I would add pics but I cant get them off of my phone right now.

Kubota KH60 steel tracks

Hi guys,
I am new to the forum and this is my 1st post.
I have an old Kh60 and i am having some problems with one of the tracks. It has started to come off on a regular basis , the last time i pulled the idler out of the frame and someone had put a 3 inch hard wood block in there and the adjuster ram had worn right through it . After putting it back without the block the track has a lot of slack in it.
So i am wondering would it be better to make a metal spacer to take up the slack or have a track plate removed ?
Also i don't have an owners manual so could someone please tell me how much tension should be in the tracks ?

My other problem is the 3 bolts in the drive sprockets are always coming loose or shearing off . Could this be because i have been pumping the tracks too tight?
Would it be advisable to loctite them in ( I did see one for sale on ebay and the owner had welded a small bar in a T shape on the heads of the three bolts to stop them loosening )

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Great forum bye the way

Many Thanks, Tom

best reliability?

I am new to the whole excavators and moving dirt my self. My dad ran larger stuff with a tri axle dump truck and they had deere and cat for stuff to run back then.

I currently work in a sand mine and run a loader they have a 980H 980K and a Volvo l220F and they more than likely will be getting a new one shortly due to issues and break downs they have been having. I ran a 330 volvo hoe the other day making room so we didn't have to move a convar and really liked that.

I'm looking way out right now and I don't know that I will be living where I'm at right now and Im thinking I'll be living about 3-4 hours north ( WAY north woods WI)

I have been reading "what the best mini exc...." I know there are plenty of them on here. I know that from the last I've read more and more factories have updated.

I've read that bobcats are a little under powered. I'm not really sure what I'd get for a rig yet I know it would be used and I want a cab I would like to only spend around 20K for one if I can.

so when it comes down to it I know that the comment DEERE CAT Volvo and the other big boys have all kinds of field service rigs and stuff. and stores for you to get parts for them. I personally do all my own work. If hoses break or anything like that I'd more than likely have the stuff to build and replace my own, or know someone who can.

I want to know what ones can be ran hard and left out cold, any one have auto grease opt? I haven't really looked in to this but how many have quick tach? I know I have deere cat and kubota dealers close by terrex is north of me a little ways.

I was watching some stuff on Tak's and I really liked the log/ brush grapple they had on the one rig, I dont know what size it was..

I get all in all I want to know if any are know to have bad items that are known to keep going out because of poor design or poor quality.

Thanks for the help.

I am considering leasing a mini excavator with in the next 3 years ( I know a long time ha ha) and I was looking to avoid a dpf and I heard under 25 horsepower nothing requires a dpf. but this is rated at almost 24 horsepower so I gues my question is does the john deere 35g require a dpf.

Which type of equipement?

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to construction equipment, I've never operated one but would really like to learn. I've had a few people give me estimates around here on doing stuff that I need done and they charge around $2-$4K per day and it would take several days. I just don't have that kind of money, so I've decided to rent one. The rental company has very small mini excavators with a 16" bucket for $160/day, larger mini excavators with a 24" digging bucket or 36" grading bucket for $250/day. They also have skid steer loaders for $200/day. I'm more concerned with being able to operate one of these... I've been watching videos on it over the past week. Any suggestions/opinions would be great!

Here are my two projects:

My First:
I'm having 200 yards of fill dirt delivered to create 5-7 raised garden mounds. Each mound is roughly 50' x 50' 4" deep. The dirt will be dumped where each mound will be, aprox 2-3 tandem truck loads per mound. So I simply need to flatten this pile out and create a gradual slope. Maybe 6" in the middle sloped down to around 1". I can quickly do the final grading touch ups with just a rake... I just need to figure out if an excavator or skid steer would be best and what could get the job done quicker/cheaper. How many hours would something like this take?

My Second:
I need to dig a drainage ditch roughly 10' wide sloped to 1.5' deep x 100' long. The dirt will be dumped right beside the ditch to build it up. Would a mini excavator be able to do this well and do this in 1 day (8 hours)? Again, it doesn't have to be a perfect job, I can do final touch ups after completed by hand.

Thanks!

Another 'How much per hour' thread *sorry* - need updated info from members

It seems that prices a guy can charge per hour for his machine not only varies a huge amount by what area of the country but, at least in my area, it seems to vary from year to year and even season to season! My main questions really revolve around 4 different machines. I seem to be able to keep other machines as busy as I want. Any input is appreciated!

First machine - um, this one's a truck; how much for a single axle dump with a 6 1/2 yard dump bed. Amount per hour?

11,000 lb track loader with 7' 4n1 bucket (Tak 150) How much per hour? It seems I am hired as much to use it as mini-dozer in landscape as much as anything. Amount per hour?

11,000 lb mini excavator with 24" bucket (Tak 145) Obviously has to be hauled to job like previous machine. How much per hour?

19,000 lb midi-excavator with 36" bucket (Tak 175) Have 18", 24", 30" and 36" buckets. Oh yeah, all excavators have hydraulic thumbs. How much per hour?

I know this is like the never ending question, but I'll be doggone if it doesn't seem to change every year. I want to stay competitive but I would like to make money too! All requested $/hour would be for machine and operator. Long ago I quit 'renting' any of my equipment for obvious reasons. Thanks in advance!!

Bobcat E50 Electrical

My E50 has blown the cabHVAC fan switch three times. Bobcat tell us it is a diode. Has anyone else have this problem and if so is there a fix or modification. My machine has 1500hrs on it and only gets used in a/c mode. This is a high performance machine but we've had persistent hyd problems, which to bobcats credit, they have always addressed.
