New to Mini's Just picked up a Cat 302.5, have a few questions.

Hi guys, I just picked up a Cat 302.5 and it has some issues I need to sort out. Anybody know where I can find used parts on the west coast. I need some body parts, a new dozer blade for it, and a few other odds and ends.

Also, the engine wont idle down. It will idle fine until I rev it up, but it will not come back down. The throttle linkage all checks out ok. Also, when I shut it off, it will run for a good 30 seconds and slowly shut off, does not just shut off like normal.

Thanks guys, I am sure I will have quite a few questions in the coming weeks. Thanks

komatsu pc50 heat not working

I have recently picked up a pc50.

The heat is not working at all, it just blows cold air.

I blew out the heater core and filters so its getting good air flow. It seems there is no coolant circulating as the hoses going to the heater core are cold.

The fan itself sounds and rough shape. I'm not sure of the temp control dial is working or if controls anything.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

I have an 05' mini excavator that usually runs fine. When I go to full throttle and dig or move around it works well, but if I throttle down, then throttle back up it loses power. It just has a loss of power digging or moving around for about 5 minutes then it seems to pick back up and run fine. If I keep it full throttle all day it runs great, but when I throttle down then back up is when I notice the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Bobcat 335 300 hours Jerky Hydraulics

Is it just me or does a 2009 Bobcat 335 have jerky hydraulics? My machine is ultra low hours for the year.. we only use it for loading a trailer and planting trees and occasionally for moving/digging boulders. The turntable feels a little sloppy too. When I stop the slew, it seems to go back and forth a little. Is that normal? The rest of the machine, boom, stick, are all tight. Lots of power, too, for digging but I just don't have much control even with low rpms.

I feel like I can't do anything right lately with the hydraulics. I can make my hand controls in my s750 and Toolcat do whatever I want but not so in the 335. Is there an adjustment or is this just par for the course? Is there a good rpm range that someone has discovered where I can smooth this thing out some?

Note: I've had this machine since new but don't get to use it much and going from the s750 to the excavator makes me feel like I'm a noob and I'm frustrated.

By the way. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Have new 35D on the way and here it is bare ground and frozen. I am wondering about how the rubber tracks hold up to these conditions. Commonly 20 degrees here all day. Should I wait until warmer weather or not worry about it.

I was hoping you all could help. I have a bobcat 331 that gets stuck at the same spot when rotating the cab. At roughly 20 degrees it will stop and I will rotate it back the other direction for a full 360 degrees and it will stop in the same spot. Any ideas on where I should begin? Thank you

Cold weather, slow crank, won't start. Battery? Block Heater?

I have a Komatsu PC-50, recently acquired, so I'm still getting to know it.

This morning was cold (5-10 F). I did the normal glow plug warm up, then tried cranking it. It cranks very slow, and no start.

Usually/Nomarlly - (when cold) it will crank slow a few times, then speed up and then start. But, this morning, it would never crank fast enough to get started.

I have been using Diesel Power Service in the fuel.

Any suggestions? I was going to run out and grab a block heater. How about the battery?
I was trying to avoid buying a battery if it's not the actual problem.

thanks

Takeuchi TB135 Thumb Question

I'm in the process of buying a 2004 TB135. It's got three buckets, one 12 and one 18, plus another bucket that I haven't seen yet but which I suspect will be a toothless 30" bucket that's good for scraping dirt.

Anyway, I'm buying a thumb for it, am aware that there is more than one design out there and I wondered if anyone had some thoughts on what I should get.

I'd be using it for things like picking up chunks of asphalt or concrete, stones, trees & vegetation, etc. Probably culvert pipe too... things along that line.

Is this price Good, OK or Bad?

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm picking up a used excavator.

It's a 2004 Takeuchi TB135 with three buckets, a brand new engine and 2,000 hrs on the rest of it.
(I don't know why it has a new engine and consider asking to be somewhat futile since I have no way of knowing if the answer is true.)

I drove it a bit and detected no problems. It starts, runs, drives and stops quite well and everything works smoothly.
Also, the new engine is quite obviously new. To fake that level of detail would likely be more expensive than buying a new engine.
BTW, I know it's quite likely to be a re-man, but That's not an issue for me.

Anyway, the excavator and three buckets are $19,500.
I wanted to get a bracket welded on and a hydraulic thumb hung from it and was quoted $1,850. I don't know what brand or model of thumb yet, although I have an e-mail in.

So I'm wondering how those prices sound to the group.
