Brushcutter for mini ex JD 60D or Cat 305.5?

$

Has anyone built a mini ex quick tach to skid steer adapter & mounted a skid steer 60" cutter on the arm?

The weight out there would be 600-800 lbs for a standard duty cutter

I'm thinking about some additional reach for pond bank mowing vs just the skidloader.

Hitachi Zaxis 50 U Slow Hydraulics

$

I have just purchased a Zaxis 50U (roughly 2005) at a very reasonable price however it has slow hydraulics. When operating the machine the hydraulics take ages to build up pressure to work and when they do they move at such a slow speed.

The previous owner had spend a lot of money trying to fix the issue. However it was a business and couldn't afford to keep the machine out of operation thus the reason for selling.

The previous owner had performed the following repairs:

- Repaired slipper plate and piston spool.
- Reconditioned Pump
- New Pilot Pump
- Reinstall pump and tested
- Blow out fuel lines
- Cleaned pilot speed control valve
- Reset valves to specifications
- Drained Hydraulic Tank
- Remove main control valve
- Refilled and bled pumps
- Reduce main pump output flow

Could anyone shed some light on what may be the problem and how it could possibly be fixed.

Also if anyone could supply a Technical manual for this machine would greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Chris

KX 91-2 swivel

I was hoping someone out there could help me with my mini Kubota. The swivel has minimal resistance, engine running or not. With the bucket off the ground, you can swing the table around in a circle by hand. That's a real inconvenience when you are working on a slope, it just swings wherever it wants to. All the pressures seem to be up and it digs just fine. I pulled the spool valve to check it and it looks good. :Banghead I need someone smarter than me. Any help would be wonderful.

'05 Cat 305 CR electrical problem, no start, ignition dead

Started the excavator this morning to move it 50 feet out of the way, started fine, shut it off, about a hour later came back and tried to move it and when turning the key on it would beep, fuel needle moves, dash lights came on which is all normal but when I hit they key everything goes out and starter doesn't engage or make any noise. Tried key again and the same thing, kept trying the key, sometimes when key on the lights would come on, then others nothing at all when key is on. A couple times when the key in off position I could hear a buzzing coming from under the seat by the hour meter, turn key on and the buzz would quit, or when it was buzzing with key off it would quit on its own after 5 seconds or so. Now key in the on position is totally dead and in the off position there is no noises either.

I think this problem has been in the works for quite awhile now. As far back as a year I can remember needing to hold the key in the start position before the started would engage, it was very minimal though, like a second rather than instantly. Or I would turn it on, dash lights and everything would come on but try to start it and all would go out, it only did this a handful of times.

As far as a buzzing next to hour meter there is a small box there with wires going into it that says NGK on it.

Also I've test lighted fuses in the panel and there is power that far, but when am holding the test light on a fuse and its lit up and hit the horn or the ignition the light goes dim.

I've got some ideas, such as bad ignition or grounds, but what do you think? Is there any wiring diagrams available? Thanks in advance.

What do you guys do to keep mice out of your machines? I've tried bounce dryer sheets and moth balls. No avail. Every time I start the machine up, atleast 3 run out of it. Today I chased one with a pair of sandals throwing one at it making it slow down enough to whack it a good one then get a shovel. Really getting annoying. What have you guys used?

case cx36 slow/weak hydarulics

Hi guys, need some help with my 2003 case cx36. I bought the machine used from a company I used to work for who was meticulous for maintenance and I know the history of the machine from day 1. Machine currently has approx 4200 hours on it. I've noticed over the past year or so the hydraulics seem to have gotten slow or weak. It seems as thou all the operations are slow/weak, even the tracks will stall if trying to climb the slightest bit of grade on soft fill ground. Machine even struggles to lift the front off the ground with the boom on the ground. I recently changed all the filters, hydr fuel air etc... and nothing has helped. I guess my next step is to dig into the hydraulics. Any ideas where to start? Do I check pressures at a certain point? Is there a place to test press output of pump? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Tilt bucket problem on my Kubota Kx101-3@, 2007

Hi
I have a problem with the tilt bucket on my machine. It starts to 'walk' slowly to one side when i activate the aux hydraulic. And the auto idle don't cut the RPMs on the engine when the aux hydraulic is activated. But when i push the aux button on top of the right joystick litle left, the auto idle works as normal. It seems to me like the aux button isn't i neutral, so litle oil leaks trough the system and holds the auto idle activated.
What is wrong, electric, hydraulic valves,??...

Thanks Thomas

Basic Mini Excavator Questions

I am in the market for a mini excavator. I honestly know very little about them and would appreciate some help.

First of all, I will say that I do not do construction for a living and never will. This machine will be used at my home, farm, and rental properties for various tasks. The first need is to excavate a hillside at my home for a retaining wall project. I will then be using it to dig a pool. I will probably use it to get a few stumps up, etc. but overall it will be general miscellaneous use

I have been looking at the compact excavators and would appreciate some guidance. Aside from reach and dig depth, what are the differences I should be looking for when deciding between models? I don't have a specific use like I said above so I am looking for versatility. Within the compact class, do they all dig about equally as well within their reach/depth? Is there a certain horsepower I need? Does horsepower correlate to bucket size I can use? I just need some starting points to narrow down my search.

My next question is new vs. used. I have the means to buy new, but feel silly doing so since I will not be using it very often so chances are I will never wear the machine out. You could argue that I will maintain good value since my machine would have low hours but you could also argue to get a much cheaper machine that even if it has significant hours on it, I will never wear it out.

If I do go with a used machine, how many hours should I tolerate? What is the typical expected lifespan in hours of one of these machines? (I know that will vary) Where is the best place to find used machines? I don't see much on craigslist and the local dealers have a very limited selection. I have found some decent looking machines on machinerytrader.com

Lastly, are there brands I definitely should look for or definitely stay away from? I know everyone will have their favorites and their passions, but are there any agreed upon generalizations about certain brands?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kobelco SK 024/Thumb ?

New guy here. I got a line on a Kobelco SK024 machine (early 90's I think). I am looking for an excavator to use on our land up on Lake Vermillion for clearing and foundation work for a cabin. This is a steal of a deal but I have one unknown. The unit has a stab arm on it and I need to make sure a hydraulic thumb could be installed on it. I have lots of large boulders in the soil up there and need to be able to pluck them out. Does anyone know if this is possible? I attached a pic of it. Name: Ex.jpg

Bobcat E35 Long Arm (2014 model)

Hi there guys I will keep it brief.
In the market for a new digger,I have a 2012 ZX35 Hitachi (3.5ton),860hrs machine, looking for something with a bit more power without going up a class.
I have had a Takeuchi TB138fr as well, about same power as you would expect, same motor (27hp Yanmar).

Have just test driven for 2 to 3hrs a new Bobcat E35 side by side, getting of the Hitachi and on the Bobcat, wow what a difference 6 or 7hp makes (Bobcat is 33.5hp).
Does anyone know off many problems with the bobcat range of excavators as thing just blew my Hitachi away an all digging aspects?

Diga.
