Does anyone know where to access the Fuel sending unit on a 435 Bobcat excavator? My fuel gauge is not responding and I think Fuel sending unit might be the problem.

Help please Deere 35d vs bobcat e32 vs cat 303

I need to add an excavator to my fleet for removing small trees and mowing hills and rocky terrain that we can't access with our ctl. I want to keep my investment under 30k, and I want to keep the machine weight under 9k pounds so that all our truck/trailers can tow it if needed. Cat, bobcat and Deere are all local and have decent service. Kubota is TERRIBLE here and not an option. My primary concern is reliability and operating cost. Any insight on these machines?

Cat 305.5 vs Bobcat E55

Looking at buying a mini soon, narrowed it down to these two. Looking for opinions from anyone with experience with either of these. Pricing is. So similar between them it's a nonissue, Cat has a better warranty and I suspect better parts availability since my Bobcat dealer is a small local outfit. Bobcat has extendable arm which I see as good and bad. Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

KX91-3 - Auxiliary flow rate low compared to overall capacity?

I'm looking for a machine to power a drive head, so I'm concerned with flow rate. As I'm comparing specs of what's available locally, I notice flow rates for the Kubota seem a little strange. Specs say overall capacity is 27.3 gpm and list the auxiliary flow at 10.9. On the other machines I'm looking at, the auxiliary flow rate is usually a lot closer to the overall capacity. The 303C CR, for example, says overall is 23.1 with primary aux 15.85 and secondary at 7.15. Even the seemingly low flow 27D, with it's overall of only 16.4 gpm has an auxiliary rate listed at 13.9.

Is it just the way different companies list their specs? Like maybe the Cat and Deere can't really operate like that and the numbers are just theoretical?

I can get a good deal on the Kubota, but the 10.9 gpm is just a little too low. Is it possible to harness some of that remaining power to improve the flow to my drive head?

Hi gang - my KX41-3 has 2700 hr and the swing bearing is just getting too sloppy/jerky front-to-back. Has anyone had theirs replaced or did you do it yourself? The dealer cost for a new brg is about $1600. :( I was hoping to find an aftermarket one, but no luck as yet. What did it finally cost for the repair? Thanks a bunch for your reply.

Yanmar B3 hydraulic pump

Hi All,
I have a 92 Yanmar B3-1 grey market. Power is not bad but speed is relatively slow compared to newer machines (not surprisingly). I don't think there's anything wrong, I've watched videos of other B3s and they operate at similar speed. I've done fluid and filter. I'm wondering about the possibility of swapping the pump for a higher flow pump. I know it could be expensive and probably not worth it for this machine but I want to at least look into it. The pump is a Kayaba KRP4-12-12-12 CDY (shown below). It's a triple gear pump. I can't find much info about it. I don't have a manual for this machine (not yet anyway). Any suggestions on sources for a manual? I know its grey market but a U.S. manual would be better than nothing. I'd like to hear all thoughts about the feasibility of upgrading the pump. Obviously the spline and mounting flange would need to match, how common are the sizes? Hose fittings would have to match. Would a higher flow pump put too much strain on the engine? Could the lines and valves handle the higher flow? Will I lose power in favor of flow? I know a lot of these questions require specs to answer but I appreciate any advice, thank you!

Yanmar 3TNV82 Troubles

I recently acquired a Tak TB 125 mini ex with a Yanmar engine. This unit has some real problems. I could use some help where to start diagnosing the problem[s]. The engine starts and runs fine at idle, at about half throttle it starts to puke out and actually drops in RPM. I have put in fresh fuel, cleaned out the water separator (full of sediment), replaced the fuel filter, changed oil and filter (oil was overfull). Additionally, the coolant looked contaminated with exhaust (blackish film in the reservoir) and there is bubbling in the reservoir as if there is exhaust pressure in the coolant system. So now I'm think bad head gasket or worse. Where should I start? Leak down test? This is my first diesel engine so no experience with them but i'd like to learn. I am mechanically inclined and if I could find a good manual should be able to do some troubleshooting and medium duty repairs Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Anybody seen one of these before?

Found this old Trackhoe on Craigslist, not to far from me. The owner says it still runs and digs. He says he thinks it is a Vermeer (due to it's color) but he doesn't know what model. It has a 2 cyl Wisconsin engine on it.

Does anybody have any idea what it might be?

Thanks,

Tim

Ok guys back in the early fall 70 degree weather I was called out to work site ...The 304 couldn't walk its self out of a hole 3 feet deep not a very steep ramp grade out of ditch with out the bucket helping it ....2 weeks later no start ....6000 hours on machine ....Now
Things I have replaced last year all injectors and glow plugs new caterpillar parts
Older tech that was helping me with a bigger job asked me what was up with mini I tolded him and he grabbed a can of ether and said mind if I have a look I said no but I don't like ether, my boss was there and said let him check it out .
Smoked no start .really didn't spin over fast enuff for me
he pulled dip stick and sealed blowbye tube and said spin it over I did and he said rings are gone I asked how can you tell he tolded me watch and boss spun machine over and he said stopped released fingers off tube and air blew out ....Back of my mind I think this is a sealed system no blow bye tube open
I check older threads here often ....I notice one same thing but was slow to start but does start and mention of hydraulic problem
I start back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off paid for Christmas and new years...Nice I like this
But I think tomorrow I'm pulling hydraulic pump far enuff off engine to see if it cranks and see where it goes from there.....
Ill report back what I find ..

CAT 304C CR blower troubles

I have a 304C CR and I am having trouble with the heat/air conditioning. It does not seem to be moving much if any air. I can hear the blower come on and change speed as I change to the three different speed settings but I don't seem to actually get any more air coming out of the vents as I increase the speed. The filter looks fine to me. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Kubota rx141

Hi all

Have recently purchased an rx141 here in Aust. Im certain it is a Jap import. Trying to find out any information i can. In particular i want to add an auger drive. There is currently no pipe work for this however it looks as thought there is a spare port on the block. The machine has an offset boom so i was planing to run steel pipework up to the knuckle and then rubber from there. Any thoughts / suggestions? The offset boom is driven by a foot pedal on the right hand side of the controls. It looks as though there may have been a provision for another pedal for the heal of the foot as there is a slot in the metal housing below the seat that is nearly right above the hydraulic block. I will try and get some pictures to aid. The alternative to this would be to use the lines for the knuckle boom and put 3 way valves in to divert the flow from the knuckle ram to the auger.

Thanks in advance.

Cross reference for a grey market Kubota mini hoe.

Can anybody suggest a place to look, to find out what the North American equivalent machine is for a grey market Kubota U20 mini? A neighbour has one that is rumoured to be for sale, and I am interested, if I can figure out how to get parts for it. I'm hoping to find out what the basic equivalent for it was in North America, so I will have a machine to use for ordering parts at the dealer.

Thanks
Brian

Kubota 161-3 throttle motor?

I have a 161-3, not a super series, and am curious where the throttle motor is located. When it's cold out the machine wil not throttle up unless you leave it idling so the cab heats up, then it will slowly come back to life. Since the machine has about 5000 hrs I'm sure it has the potential to be covered in dust and dirt or the throttle motor is on its way out. I'm gonna dig into it tomorrow but just wanted some advice on an idea of where to look. Thanks.

Bobcat PCF 34 Plate Compactor

$

Hi All!
I'm looking at buying a plate compactor for my mini excavator. I am hoping that it will be able to work where I am currently using a jumping jack compactor. My thinking is that it will work better, and be faster, than a walk behind jumping jack. I am currently running an '06 Bobcat 435 ZHS. My local dealer is wants to sell me a Bobcat brand PCF 34. He does not stock them (none of my local dealers stocks plate compactor attachments) so I am reaching out to the HEF community for feedback on this unit or any others. If I recall CD was using these units on the same machine too. One nice thing about buying from Bobcat is that they are offering 0% for 36 months on attachments.
The dealer also told me that the 435 will require the addition of a dedicated case drain line (direct return to tank) in order to use this attachment. He wants $600 for the line and related hardware (installed). Obviously not the end of the world but it does add 13% to the cost. So much for Bobcat's claim to be attachment ready standard.
Regardless, I would like to hear opinions about how it compares to a jumping jack, how durable this unit is, expected service life, and how it compares to other brands of vibratory plate compactors.
I'm posting in the attachment category, and here because I think this forum will get more possible results.

Thanks,
JC
