Bobcat Excavator Parts Quality

Hi, I own and operate a 2014 Bobcat E35 which was purchased new mid 2014, it had been fairly trouble free up until 8 months ago when the rotary/swivel joint started to leak, told the service tech who was at my home performing a service (this is a requirement here in Australia to get a 3 yr warranty), he noted the fault and it was put into our local Bobcat dealers workshop who did the repair, I was told they replaced the rotary joint with a brand new Bobcat spare part as the original unit was badly pitted internally, this was all done under warranty. Well I had a 750hr service performed this morning by Bobcat again and the rotary joint has failed again (leaking oil), so that's 8 months. The machine still has over 12 months of it's original warranty but have been informed by the dealer that the spare part only has a 6 month warranty.

Does this sound fair coming from Bobcat who did the repair with a genuine Bobcat part which has failed twice in two years!!

Just added a new machine to to mix.
Its a repo that I found on machinery finder in MN.
440 hours and a 2013 model.
Former owner managed to bend most of the pannels around the machine.
Dealership is installing a new Hyd thumb and then delivering it to south Georgia for $25,000 out the door.
I'll change all the fluids and filters when it arrives and will most likely replace the worst bent sheet metal.
I am shopping for a hyd auger to drill 12" fence post holes around the farm.

Looking hard at the McMillan X1475 auger, Does anyone have any experience with it?

Does anyone have an operators book on the 35-d in a format that can be emailed? or an extra paper copy to sell?

looking for a mini x

I'm in the market for a used machine. Looking at something less then 10,000#. I'm finding some fair deals looking around on Craigslist and other pages so far. Within my price range (around 20k) I'm obviously finding a wide variety of machines of all conditions. I'm looking at staying with a Cat, JD or Bobcat since I have dealers all around. My fear is parts for some other brands. Is that a valid concern? I did find a JD 35D that was in pretty decent shape, on the photos anyways. It has 5800 hours. How many would you deem too many?

Picked up a 2012 JD 35D with a long arm and angle blade. It has 1476 hours on it. Ran it last night for a bit digging around a big Poplar stump. First thing I'm going to do is add a hydraulic thumb. Anyone have suggestions on where to buy that from? Already have a lead on a couple of buckets, this one is a 24". I'm going to scrape off the dealer stickers and freshen up some rough spots with paint. Great overall machine. My 10 year old daughter approves :)http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...97bc85cd72.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...554631663d.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...3c976659d9.jpg

New Takeuchi TB240 Cab version

Hi all. I just replaced my Takeuchi TB135 with a new TB240 Cab version. If anyone has one of these, I would be interested in talking with them. ALso, if you're interested in buying this model, let me know. So far, the unit seems to be a good improvement over the TB135 especially with the added engine power and increase weight.

pc220-6 lacking power

My excavator seems to be lacking power when trying to turn the tracks and even lifting the boom...Even at full throttle, there seem to be no difference, tracks cant seem to turn and are at lowest peak of travel when moving either in reverse or forward. When trying to rotate a track (either left or right), it seems to have the same rotational speed.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks

Red bar on my JD 35D. Sorry, I know it's a rookie question. I don't have an owners manual to even look it up.

sorry I don't know why the picture turns sideways when I attach it.

Want to downsize my excavator...

I have completed all my large projects and my LB330LX worked out great for clearing my property and digging around my pond but now I need (read want) to something smaller to finish off projects and maintain my property. So, I have searched the forums and found a little info but was wanting to get some input from folks on either getting a 2015 Cat 308E2 excavator with 8 hours for high $80s or a 2012 Cat 420E backhoe with 2000 hours in the mid $40s.

I already have a Kubota L45 TLB and it works for the most part but just will not cover all the bases. Most of my work will be cleaning up stumps and burying them, cleaning fence lines, trenching water and electric lines. I am leaning towards the 308 since I have a small TLB already. I know there are other small excavators that are good, but I have a cat dealer 4 miles from me and one of my issues with the Link Belt is the nearest dealer is 140 miles away, parts and service is just much easier with Cat being local.

Whistling (air leak) noise from front of Kubota U50

Hello, I have a Kubota U50 3@ 2006 model. (Similar to the U45 and KX161). Recently I have noticed some type of whistling noise (sounds like an air leak) coming from the front/ underneath the cab. Can not recall hearing this before. Anybody out there who can say this is familiar? Or has an idea what this can be?

Messersi owners, (libre?)

Hi! Is here any messersi owners?
Is it fact, that messersi is the same as libre? The outfit is pretty much same in many machines too.
I just bought a messersi. I bought it as a m-35, year 2005. When it arrived from ireland, it had the type plate missing. I think it is a m-28, and closer of a year 1995 than 2005.
Is here anybody who could help me with the identification, and how similar it really is with other machines with the same outfit.

TB025 Hydraulic Help ......PLEASE!!!!

I have a 1999 takeuchi tbo25 that will not lower with any force. I have swapped the hoses on the ends of the cylinder and it worked. This tells me the cylinder is okay (I think). All pilot functions are working except the forward or lower function. I took the pilot control assembly apart and nothing is seized up in there. When I push forward on the lever it continues to lower until I pull back on it to stop it. Is this a spool sticking? If so do I have to take the entire control valve off the machine to replace it? Any and all advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

takeuchi 180fr or 175 owners with coupler please help!

I have a 2014 Takeuchi tb180fr with a TAG coupler.

here is a pic of it curled in all the way.

(Sorry upside down cannot figure out how to fix it)

The coupler says tb175 on it. Dealer says 175 and 180 are same and it is correct coupler.

Contacted TAG and they took serial numbers from coupler and buckets and said everything matches machine. They stated they design to Takeuchi specs and that is correct curl. They told me: "Just use the thumb to hold material and reduce spillage" So if I didn't have a thumb I would be just f'd?

Bottom line the curl stinks and it really sucks when digging stone out of a truck or loading into a truck because the material spills out of the bucket.

Anyone with a 180fr or 175 could you send me a pic of your bucket curled in. Especially if you have a Tag coupler or a standard Takeuchi bucket with no coupler.

I am considering buying a new coupler if I can find one that curls in. Maybe a pin grabber style. Anyone with any advice on brands or other info feel free to chime in. I am frustrated as hell because I like the machine. My Takeuchi 53fr is the reason I bought this thing I assumed the bucket didn't curl in because it was in the wrong pin setting, when I tried the other pin hole it was worse. The tb53fr folds the bucket in against the thumb/stick.

Thanks in advance

One track motor stronger than the other?

I experienced recently with my Kubota U50 when giving full power ahead on both tracks pushing against a large boulder, that the left track spun quite easily, while I did not get the right to spin at all. Similar gravel underneath the tracks and better tread depth on left track.

Could there be some damage/wear on my right final drive? Does anybody have experience on this field? Appreciate any/ all tips:)

damaged slewing ring CAT 301.8

$

Hello Guys,

I bought a CAT 301.8 Mini Excavator with a damaged slewing ring. Now i have disassembled the Excavator and I have some questions.
The hydraulic rotation motor doesn`t look like the original motor (see the picture). At the nameplate I can read "Nachi Hydraulic Equitment".
The slewing ring is certainly damaged, the gearwheel is very worn.

The other question is about the power of the hydraulic rotation motor. If I stand the excavator on the back of the chains, that the front of the chains is in the air, it hasn´t enough power to rotate. Is that normal in this weight class or should it rotate?

Some help would be very nice!
Thank you very much!
Best regards, Max

Oil change of swing motor gearbox, Kubota U50/KX161

$

Hello guys,

In my Kubota U50/KX161 norwegian maintenance schedual there is a point stating: "Oil change in driving gears and guide roller" (or something like that (this was a direct translation from Norwegian)) every 2000 hours. No further remarks or details of this in the operators manual.
Oil change in the final drives / track motors are listed as a separate point (with oil change every 500 hours) , so they are not what this point is about.

I guess the oil in the swivel motor gearbox/ slew gear could be one of the items they mean? Does anybody know with more certainty what is meant with this point? Has anybody here ever changed oil in their swivel motor gearbox before, and can tell me how it is done?
