Fuel Problem on my Kubota KX41 -2

Ran her low on fuel and the engine cut out ...... filled her up with fuel ..... now it wont start for love nor money

this is the type of fuel injection unit on the excavator

When I turn the ignition key I can hear the whir of the fuel pump .... BUT then I only get fuel pumped as far as the injection unit .... NO fuel comes out of the injection unit

Any answers ......thanks

Driving fence posts with a mini?

I am looking to expand my operation into contract fencing. I am wondering if anyone has seen a mini drive fence posts. I do not own the machine yet but I am looking at a ~8000 lb machine. Either using a plate compactor with a flange welded to the bottom or a breaker. The plate compactor is the preferred solution due to the fact that it is half the money of a similar sized breaker.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, in my mind I would think it would work. But I can't find anyone who has ever done it. I kind of need to see it work before I open my check book.

5T Excavator KX161-3 overheating

I have a Kubota KX161-3 which overheats in a relatively short time when in use.
I have replaced the coolant and installed a new thermostat and 2 x new temperature sensors.
The temperature is showing on the instrument gauge but it is only approx 1/8 of full scale ie. not really showing as hot. It is only after I turn off the engine that I gear the overflow bottle tube bubbling away.
Can anyone offer an explanation of:
- why is it boiling so quickly but not showing on the gauge.
- how can I diagnose/fix it

Idler and Track Question

New here and have a few questions. My Snowmobile Club has a John Deere 35D and some of the maintenance has fallen to me.

Most of the basic service I can figure out (there are after all instructions on the machine).


We did however have an front idler assembly that was toast, we have an new aftermarket idler coming to replace that side. I removed the other one to check it and it seems pretty tight, I took it apart to check the seals pin and bushings and want to lube it when I put it back together. I would have thought that it would take grease but it seems like it gas some sort of gear lube in it now. So the questions what kind of lube shout it get.

My second question while not an intimidate concern is about the tracks it has rubber track which I think will last us a year or maybe two. We use the machine out on our snowmobile trails which means we probably travel more that most per hour of use. Often we have to unload it somewhere and travel a mile or so down the trail into the woods to get to the job site where we may only work a hour or so. Our snowmobile trails con be pretty rough in places with lots of rocks we're thinking we might be better off the steel or hybrid tracks. I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with making the change over and if you found it cost effective over the long haul. We are thinking about getting a flail mower for it in a year or two so our travel time may even get higher.

Kubota KX 121-2 Boom up stops responding

Good day all

My KX 121-2 boom up stopped responding intermittently. When this happens the hydraulic fluid is at operating temperature. Everything works normal when fluid is cold. When it happens I hear chatter at the control valve. I switch the TPSS to switch the boom up control to the left and the problem follows so that eliminates the pilot valves. I haven’t ran a pressure gauge over anything yet. I'm guessing it’s a pilot circuit issue (pilot pressure). I recently added a few attachments with actuators/ cylinders so I may have air introduced into the system. I am going to do some bleeding once I get back to the machine. I’m open to suggestions/ides to minimize disassembly.

Hello all!

Been reading here for ages but never posted . Came on here looking for info on the new kx 040-4 kubota , apparently it is replacing the 121 model? I just purchased the first one that my dealer has gotten in . The buckets I ordered ( 24 inch digging and 42 inch clean up) are not in yet. They are installing the quick coupler and hydraulic thumb in the morning . And hopefully the buckets will show up !

Anyone running one yet? Or have any info? It has the new cab design ,like the 57 and 80 models . Big improvement in room and comfort compared to the 121 model.

Bobcat 331 mini final drive seal blowout

Keep blowing final drive seals. The last on cracked the case cover. Hydraulic oil in the gear box. I was told by the final drive repair man that 331 and 334 has this issue. Apparently a valve malfunction causes pressure to go through the return lie to the final drive blowing the seal. He said if I run the machine there would be pressure in the return line. Anybody know which valve? Is this possible? I have run the machine with the covers off and get no pressure on the return lines. I have run all the operations and still no pressure....
This is the third seal in 8 months. This time the controls got stiff and Bang. There goes the cover plate and here we go again.

Bobcat 435 brakes at high speed

Hello,
While traveling in low speed when I engage the high speed button on my control arm, the machine speeds up and with in a few seconds the machine stops as if brakes go on. I have to push the speed button again to resume in low, has anyone had the problem and is there a simple way to fix?

Hi, I just bought a kubota RX 301 mini excavator- I am looking for some info and feedback, I cant seem to find a dealer that will service this or get me parts, I also need manuals for this machine. The machine runs great and digs fine- I was looking for specs on this machine- such as how much can it lift? There is a hook on the bucket- I was hoping to use this machine to dig small dry wells. Any info on this machine would be a big help. Thanks:usa

I believe the 50G is made by Hitachi. Maybe Hitachi has a comparable cab?

IHI 35J in need of a little help

hi just got myself a ihi 35j with cab and am on the hunt for a bit of info,some of the things i want to know are what make of quick hitch is fitted to them,so that i can try and pick up another bucket for it,seems silly but the outside door handle is nackered am using the international gps tracking and security device at the moment i.e. a coat hanger,any one know of any other models fitting that cab,also have play in all the pins has any one done the ram pins i have a parts book i doesnt show bushes,but just incase any one has been there and done it before any help would be more than appreciated,my location is in the back o beyond 30 miles nw of inverness,scotland so am trying to find a dealer local to me,many thanks ian

Cat mini excavator pin grabber

Has any one rebuilt the pin grabber quick coupler on a Cat mini excavator? There is alot of wear in the saddles where the pins set and I'm thinking they need to be welded up and then machined. Does Cat have any specs for this? As far as what welding rod to use and pre/post heat ect? Thanks in advance.

302.5 swing boom

The pedal for the swing boom control won't press either right or left. It was very tight a month or so ago, but now won't depress at all.
Anyone have a clue whats going on. Nothing about adjustment in the service manual.

What size are the auxillary hydraulic valves on a Case CX50B?

I built a hanger for our McMillen auger drive and need to make a set of adapters to plug it in. I need to know the size of the o-ring fittings to go into the aux shut off valves. I have a thumb on it, but it has smaller lines with #8 JIC fittings. I want to connect to Case flatface skidloader couplers that are 1/2" pipe thead.

hi guys,

ive got a 301.8 cat. been using it the last three days diggin. it's running in the red on the temp guage except when the rear door is open, Then it runs just under red. I'm going to clean rad tonight but does anyone else have any ideas? Maybe pull thermostat and leave it out for time being?

Bobcat 331 VS Tak TB135

So here's the deal. I do light dirt work and brush clearing with my skid and tractor and am looking to add a mini ex to the operation.

I know for just digging the Tak TB135 would be the better option, but I also want the ability to run a mower head for the brush clearing. A 30 inch head would be fine with me, as I have a six footer for the skid and a eight footer for the tractor.

Of these two machines which one would you pick for general digging and running a 30 inch head. Or is there another machine in this size range that you would recommend. I don't want to go to much over 8000 pounds for transport reasons so keep that in mind if you recomend looking at a different machine.

Also should I be looking harder at zero swing machines? Is the added premium worth it for general use or should I just rent one if the job calls for it?
